This Baked Cod with Lemon-Dill Sauce is light, flaky, and full of flavor. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s the perfect weeknight dinner that feels fancy but requires minimal effort. A creamy lemon-dill sauce brings freshness and tang, making this dish a comforting favorite.
Ingredients
For the Cod:
4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each), fresh or thawed
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp paprika (optional)
Lemon slices, for garnish
For the Lemon-Dill Sauce:
½ cup Greek yogurt
2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for creamier texture)
2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Prepare cod fillets by patting them dry with a paper towel. Brush both sides with olive oil.
Season fillets with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Place on the baking sheet.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cod flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Make the sauce while cod bakes: in a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, mayonnaise (if using), dill, lemon juice, zest, Dijon mustard, and garlic. Add salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Plate and serve cod with lemon-dill sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh dill.
Notes
If using frozen cod, thaw completely and pat dry before baking.
The lemon-dill sauce can be made up to 24 hours ahead.
Pair with roasted potatoes, rice pilaf, or steamed veggies for a full meal.
