Description
Broccoli with Garlic Sauce is a quick and comforting veggie dish made with tender broccoli, golden garlic, and crispy bacon tossed in a savory garlic sauce. Perfect as a weeknight side or light main.
Ingredients
1 head broccoli, cut into small florets
2 strips bacon, chopped
3 tablespoons oil
4–5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
½ tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon oyster sauce
½ tablespoon cornstarch
⅓ cup water
Salt, for boiling water
Splash of olive oil, for boiling water
Instructions
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and a splash of olive oil. Boil broccoli for 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until crispy and golden. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving oil in the pan.
Add garlic to the skillet and cook until lightly golden and fragrant.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water.
Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir for about 10 seconds until slightly thickened.
Add broccoli to the pan and toss until fully coated in garlic sauce.
Sprinkle bacon over the top, toss once more, and serve immediately.
Notes
Do not overcook the garlic—it should be golden, not brown.
Add a tablespoon of water if the sauce thickens too quickly.
Bacon can be omitted for a vegetarian version.
