Cajun Salmon Avocado Lime is a bold, fresh, and satisfying meal made with perfectly seasoned salmon and a creamy avocado lime sauce. It’s quick enough for busy weeknights but flavorful enough to feel special, whether served in bowls, tacos, or simple plates.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cajun Salmon

  • 2 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Avocado Lime Crema

  • 2 ripe avocados

  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice

  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 23 tablespoons water, to thin

For Serving (Optional)

  • Cooked rice

  • Black beans

  • Corn

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Chopped red onion

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Lime wedges

  • Tortillas

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.

  2. In a small bowl, mix Cajun seasoning, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper into a paste.

  3. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the salmon.

  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little olive oil.

  5. Cook salmon skin-side down for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook another 3–4 minutes until flaky and cooked through.

  6. Remove salmon from heat and let rest for a few minutes.

  7. Add avocados, sour cream, lime juice, cilantro, garlic, salt, and cayenne to a blender or food processor.

  8. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.

  9. Flake the salmon and serve with rice, beans, corn, or tortillas. Drizzle generously with avocado lime crema and finish with lime wedges.

Notes

Adjust Cajun seasoning to control spice level.

Greek yogurt can be used for a lighter sauce.

The avocado lime crema can be made up to 24 hours ahead and stored refrigerated.

Great for bowls, tacos, or meal prep.
