Description

This spooky and delicious Cemetery Flatbread Pizza is the ultimate Halloween dinner idea! Topped with ghost-shaped mozzarella cheese, black olive gravestones, and fresh herbs, it’s a fun, cheesy, and family-friendly way to celebrate the season. Quick to prepare and perfect for parties or movie nights, this festive pizza is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flatbread dough (homemade or store-bought)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 cup pizza sauce

  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese (cut into ghost shapes with cookie cutter or freehand)

  • ½ cup black olives (whole and sliced)

  • 1 cup cauliflower florets (small, bite-sized pieces)

  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) and lightly oil a large baking sheet.

  2. Roll out the flatbread dough into a rectangle to fit the pan and brush lightly with olive oil.

  3. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about ½-inch border.

  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.

  5. Arrange cauliflower florets across the surface for a “tombstone garden” look.

  6. Bake for 8 minutes, until the cheese melts and edges begin to crisp.

  7. Remove from the oven and top with mozzarella ghost cutouts.

  8. Press sliced olives into ghosts to make eyes and mouths; scatter whole or halved olives as gravestones.

  9. Return to oven and bake 5–7 minutes more, until ghosts are slightly melted but still hold shape.

  10. Let cool slightly, then sprinkle with parsley or cilantro before serving. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • No ghost cookie cutter? Use kitchen scissors to cut wavy edges in mozzarella slices for a spooky look.

  • Substitute broccoli or mushrooms for cauliflower if desired.

  • To make ahead, prepare the base and toppings (minus the ghosts), refrigerate, then bake just before serving.

  • For a meatier version, add pepperoni or shredded rotisserie chicken under the cheese layer.
