Description

These soft, chewy Christmas Cookie Bars are packed with chocolate chips, festive sprinkles, and cozy holiday flavor. Perfect for parties, gifting, or easy December baking, they deliver all the joy of Christmas cookies—without the hassle of scooping dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  4. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  5. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

  7. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.

  8. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Top with festive sprinkles.

  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  10. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then lift out using parchment and cool fully on a wire rack.

  11. Slice into bars and enjoy!

Notes

For thicker bars, bake in a smaller dish and add a few extra minutes of cook time.

Add white chocolate chips, crushed peppermint, or holiday M&Ms for even more festive flair.

Bars firm up as they cool—don’t worry if they seem soft right out of the oven.
