Ingredients
-
1 1/2 lbs beef flank steak, sliced thin
-
3 cups broccoli florets
-
1/2 cup soy sauce
-
1/4 cup beef broth
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
2 tbsp sesame oil
-
2 tbsp cornstarch
-
4 garlic cloves, minced
-
1/4 cup water (for cornstarch slurry)
Optional: steamed white or brown rice for serving
Instructions
-
Add sliced beef, soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic to the crockpot. Stir gently to combine.
-
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
-
In the last 30 minutes of cooking, whisk together cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Stir the mixture into the sauce.
-
Add broccoli florets and cook for an additional 30 minutes, until broccoli is just tender and sauce has thickened.
-
Serve over rice, garnish with sesame seeds if desired, and enjoy!
Notes
-
For a spicier kick, add 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes with the sauce ingredients.
-
Sirloin or skirt steak can be used as a substitute for flank steak—just slice thinly.
-
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
