Description

Crockpot Loaded Steak and Potato Bake is a hearty, cheesy one-pot dinner made with tender steak, baby potatoes, crispy bacon, and creamy cheddar sauce. This easy slow cooker recipe is perfect for busy weeknights when you want comfort food without spending hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef steak, cubed

  • 1.75 lbs (800g) potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 2 cups (200g) cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup (100g) bacon bits

  • 1/2 cup (100ml) sour cream

  • 1/4 cup (50ml) milk

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add cubed steak and sear until browned on all sides (about 3–4 minutes).

  2. Layer half of the diced potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot.

  3. Add half of the browned steak, bacon bits, and shredded cheddar cheese.

  4. Repeat with remaining potatoes, steak, bacon, and cheese.

  5. In a small bowl, mix sour cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper.

  6. Pour the mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.

  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are fork-tender.

  8. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, don’t skip browning the steak before adding it to the slow cooker.

Cut potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.

Add extra cheese during the last 10 minutes for an extra melty finish.

Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk to keep it creamy.
