Description

This creamy and comforting Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa is the ultimate set-it-and-forget-it dinner. Tender cheddar pierogies, smoky kielbasa, and a rich, cheesy sauce come together effortlessly in the slow cooker for a cozy meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 packages Mrs. T’s Cheddar Pierogies

  • 4 cups chicken broth

  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)

  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add 3 cups of chicken broth to a 4–6 quart slow cooker.

  2. Add frozen pierogies, sliced kielbasa, and 1 cup shredded cheddar. Stir to distribute ingredients.

  3. Cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6 hours.

  4. Thirty minutes before the end of cooking, warm cream cheese with remaining 1 cup broth in microwave or stovetop until smooth.

  5. Pour cream cheese mixture into the slow cooker and stir well to combine.

  6. Top with additional cheddar cheese, cover, and cook on LOW for 30 more minutes.

  7. Serve hot with sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

Do not thaw pierogies; they cook best from frozen.

Add frozen spinach or peas at the end for extra color.

Sauce thickens slightly as it cools.

Smoked sausage can replace kielbasa.
