Ingredients
12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
1 lb ground beef (80/20 or 85/15)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup beef broth
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside — do not rinse.
Sauté the aromatics: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened and golden. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Brown the beef: Add ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart into small crumbles. Drain excess fat, leaving a little for flavor.
Build the sauce: Pour in beef broth and stir, scraping up any browned bits. Add red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer 3–5 minutes to thicken slightly.
