Description

This creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Tortellini is a 30-minute one-skillet wonder! Juicy seared chicken, cheesy tortellini, and crisp-tender broccoli come together in a rich garlic parmesan sauce that’s comfort food perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh cheese tortellini

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes

  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: ¼ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini until just al dente. Reserve ¼ cup pasta water and drain. Set aside.

  2. Steam the broccoli: Lightly steam the broccoli until crisp-tender. Shock in ice water to retain color and texture.

  3. Sear the chicken: In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Sear until golden and cooked through. Set aside.

  4. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Pour in cream, whisking gently. Bring to a light simmer, then remove from heat and stir in Parmesan until smooth.

  5. Combine: Add tortellini, chicken, and broccoli to the sauce. Toss gently to coat. If sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water. Serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
Want extra garlic flavor? Add a pinch of garlic powder along with the fresh garlic.
This dish reheats well—just add a splash of cream or milk before reheating to maintain that creamy texture.
