Description
These Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, buttery, and filled with melty chocolate chips. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, celebrations, or anytime you want a sweet homemade treat that feels extra special without extra effort.
Ingredients
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
¾ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
½ cup light brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs, room temperature
1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 1–2 minutes.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until no streaks of flour remain.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies 2–3 inches apart.
Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers are slightly underbaked.
Remove from the oven and immediately cut cookies into hearts using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5–7 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Slightly underbaking keeps the cookies soft and chewy.
Flour the cookie cutter lightly to prevent sticking.
Mix regular and mini chocolate chips for the best texture.
