Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2–3 fresh or pickled jalapenos, thinly sliced
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
Optional: 3 strips cooked bacon, crumbled (for extra flavor)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, garlic powder, and bacon (if using). Stir until smooth and creamy.
Prepare the dough: On a floured surface, gently roll out the puff pastry sheets into rectangles, about ¼-inch thick.
Fill and twist: Spread the cream cheese mixture over one half of each sheet. Fold the other half over, press lightly, and cut into 1-inch strips. Twist each strip several times.
Brush with egg wash: Mix the egg and water, then brush over each twist for a golden finish.
Bake: Arrange on the baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Serve warm with ranch or spicy dipping sauce and enjoy every cheesy, flaky bite!
Notes
For milder flavor, use fewer jalapenos or substitute mild green chiles.
