Description
Create a festive and easy Simple Christmas Tree Charcuterie Board with delicious cheeses, meats, fruits, and garnishes that are arranged to resemble a Christmas tree. Perfect for holiday gatherings, this charcuterie board is as fun to make as it is to eat!
Ingredients
8 oz. Fontina Cheese, cubed
8 oz. Smoked Gouda, cubed
9 oz. Genoa Salami, cubed
6 oz. Pepperoni
½ cup green olives
¼ cup dried cranberries
¼ cup almonds
3–4 tbsp honey mustard (or delicatessen-style mustard)
1 5 oz pack rosemary flatbread crackers
1 4.25 oz pack water crackers
Fresh pomegranate seeds for garnish
8–10 rosemary sprigs for “tree branches”
Instructions
Start by placing your meats and cheeses at the base of the board, making the first layer wide and then gradually shortening each layer as you go up to create the shape of the tree. Leave room at the bottom for the “trunk.”
Fold the pepperoni slices into quarters and secure them on toothpicks. Insert these folded slices between the layers for a fun and colorful touch.
Add smaller items such as nuts, olives, and dried cranberries around the base and between the layers to add texture and color.
Place rosemary sprigs between the layers to mimic the appearance of tree branches.
For the “trunk,” use a small bowl of honey mustard and place it at the bottom of your tree, surrounding it with crackers and bread.
Decorate your tree with pomegranate seeds for a pop of red.
Top your tree with a star-shaped cheese piece. Use a star cookie cutter or cut it freehand.
Serve at room temperature for the best flavor.
Notes
Meat Alternatives: Try using prosciutto, capocollo, or sopressata as alternatives to the Genoa salami and pepperoni.
Cheese Options: You can also use cheddar, brie, or mozzarella balls for variation.
Make-Ahead: You can prepare the board ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 12 hours. Just cover it tightly with plastic wrap and let it come to room temperature before serving.
Garnishes: Feel free to add cherry tomatoes or sliced cucumbers for extra color and freshness.
