Description
These Slow Cooker Fried Apples are tender, buttery, and perfectly spiced with cinnamon and sugar. Just like Cracker Barrel’s famous fried apples, but made effortlessly at home in your slow cooker. Perfect as a dessert, side dish, or sweet topping!
Ingredients
6 large apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Fuji, or Gala), peeled and sliced
2 tbsp cornstarch
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp unsalted butter, sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
Instructions
Place peeled and sliced apples into the slow cooker.
Add cornstarch, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, butter, and lemon juice. Stir well until apples are evenly coated.
Cover and cook on high for 2 hours (or until apples are tender).
Serve warm as a side dish, dessert, or over pancakes, oatmeal, or ice cream.
Notes
For a less sweet version, reduce the sugar.
Add a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra indulgence.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days; reheat in microwave or stovetop.
These taste just like Cracker Barrel Fried Apples—a true copycat recipe!
