Description

This Slow Cooker Maple & Brown Sugar Glazed Carrot recipe is the perfect sweet and savory side for Thanksgiving. Easy, hands-free, and totally crowd-pleasing!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 pounds baby carrots (or pounds whole carrots, peeled and sliced)

  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar

  • ¼ cup maple syrup

  • ⅓ cup butter, cubed

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ⅛ teaspoon pepper

  • Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add carrots to a 5–6 quart slow cooker.

  2. In the slow cooker, mix together brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and pepper. Stir to coat the carrots.

  3. Pour maple syrup over the carrots and toss gently.

  4. Top with cubed butter.

  5. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 5–6 hours, until carrots are tender. Stir once or twice if possible.

  6. To thicken glaze, uncover for the last 30 minutes of cooking, or transfer glaze to a saucepan and simmer 5 minutes until thickened.

  7. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve warm.

Notes

To save time, use baby carrots—they’re pre-peeled and cook evenly.

Substitute maple syrup with honey or agave if needed.

Add herbs like thyme or rosemary for a fragrant twist.

Great for Thanksgiving or as a cozy weeknight side.
