Ingredients
1 cup baby portabello mushrooms, sliced
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 1/3 pounds lean ground beef
1 tablespoon steak seasoning
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (divided)
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
1 egg
3 tablespoons cornstarch (divided)
2 cups beef broth
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: 2 tablespoons water for thickening gravy
Instructions
Spray a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Add sliced mushrooms and onions to the bottom.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, steak seasoning, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, dried onion flakes, parsley, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix well.
Form the beef mixture into 4-6 oval patties. Place in the slow cooker on top of the veggies in a single layer.
In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, remaining 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and black pepper until smooth. Pour over patties.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours.
After cooking, remove patties. Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir into the slow cooker gravy to thicken. Return patties if desired.
Serve warm over mashed potatoes or egg noodles. Spoon mushroom gravy on top and enjoy!
Notes
For extra texture, sear patties in a skillet before slow cooking (optional).
