For the Meat Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 yellow onion, diced

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

For the Cabbage and Sauce:

  • 1 small head green cabbage

  • 14-ounce can petite diced tomatoes

  • 6-ounce can tomato paste

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 cup water


Instructions

  1. Brown the Meat
    In a skillet over medium-high heat, crumble and brown the ground beef until just a little pink remains. Drain excess fat. Add onion, thyme, parsley, red pepper flakes, and salt; cook for 3–5 minutes until onions soften. Transfer to slow cooker.

  2. Prepare the Cabbage
    Chop the cabbage into 1-inch pieces and add to slow cooker.

  3. Make the Sauce
    In a bowl, mix diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and water. Pour over the meat and cabbage; stir gently to combine.

  4. Cook
    Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours, stirring halfway through if possible. Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.
