Description
Slowcooker Creamy Mustard Pulled Ham is a cozy, hands-off dinner made with tender shredded ham simmered in a sweet, tangy mustard sauce and finished with a splash of cream for richness.
Ingredients
1 boneless ham, about 4–5 pounds
1 cup apple juice or apple cider
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup whole grain mustard
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup heavy cream
Fresh parsley, optional for garnish
Instructions
Place the boneless ham in the bottom of the slow cooker.
In a medium bowl, whisk together apple juice, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
Pour the mustard mixture over the ham, coating it evenly.
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, until the ham is very tender and easily pulls apart.
Remove the ham and shred it using two forks.
Pour the cooking liquid into a saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return the pulled ham to the slow cooker and stir in the creamy mustard sauce.
Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
This recipe works well for sandwiches, sliders, or serving over mashed potatoes.
Leftovers store beautifully and reheat without drying out.
If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of apple juice to loosen it.
