Ingredients
2–3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for extra tenderness)
4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water
Fresh parsley, chopped
Extra shredded Parmesan, for garnish
Optional Add-Ins:
Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version
Add ½ cup frozen chopped spinach during the last hour
Instructions
Build the Flavor Base:

Notes
Freshly grated Parmesan melts much smoother than pre-shredded.
