Description

This Halloween Poke Cake is a spooky, fun, and easy dessert perfect for your Halloween celebrations. Layers of vibrant purple and green cake are topped with creamy green pudding and decorated with colorful candy for a fun, festive treat that everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 1 Box white cake mix

  • Purple gel food coloring

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/3 cup oil

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 6 oz vanilla pudding mix

  • 2 cups milk

  • Green gel food coloring

  • Ghoul mix M&M’s (or any colorful candy)

  • Vanilla frosting

  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, oil, and water, mixing until smooth. Add 4 drops of purple gel food coloring and stir until well combined.

  3. Grease a 9×11 baking dish with cooking spray and pour the cake batter into the dish. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  4. While the cake cools, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk in a medium bowl until smooth. Add 4 drops of green gel food coloring and mix until the pudding is green. Refrigerate.

  5. Once the cake has cooled for 15 minutes, poke 12 holes in the cake with the handle of a wooden spoon.

  6. Pour the green pudding over the cake, making sure it fills the holes.

  7. In a separate bowl, mix vanilla frosting with 2 drops of green food coloring. Spread over the cake.

  8. Top with Ghoul Mix M&M’s or your favorite Halloween candy. Slice and serve!

Notes

If you don’t have purple or green food coloring, you can use any other colors to fit the occasion.
Chill the pudding before pouring over the cake for a firmer consistency.
If you want to make the cake extra spooky, you can add more Halloween-themed candies or chocolate shavings on top!
